“This experience has provided me with an opportunity to consider how I can incorporate sustainable practice into both my life and working world. It allowed me to meet people who feel the same and has helped give me a boost of confidence to continue following this path.” – Sirius Participant

Can you help us to reach new heights in protecting wild places?
2012 has been a phenomenal year for the Wilderness Foundation and we have experienced a growth spurt in delivering our essential work on protecting wild places.
Our programmes help to guarantee that precious natural spaces will be here for future generations to enjoy.   We do this through informed leadership programmes, evidencing how critical nature is for our social and personal wellbeing, and taking practical action to protect wild nature and biodiversity.
It is impertative that we find solutions for the 21st Century that ensure sustainability.  In order to action this we must raise  £100,000 over the next year.  This will enable us to reach and influence more people,  creating an even bigger wave of positive action.
As one of our valued partners in protecting nature, we are asking for your help in achieving this by making a donation today, and joining us a Friend to keep up with our news and programmes.
Here are just a few examples of how supporting us would help The  Wilderness Foundation continue to make a real difference to Wild Places and People.

  • Continue to develop and equip young leaders of the future with experience and understanding of how to balance the needs of nature, people and business – currently we reach up to 1,000 young people a year;
  • Demonstrate how to support farmers and food production in the 21st Century whilst protecting and enhancing biodiversity and nature through our new Chatham Green Project. We will reach up to 3,000 school children in the next three years based on our 400 acre farm (in partnership with Strutt and Parker Farms Living Classroom Sciences initiative);
  • Supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in society to build resilience and coping strategies for positive and healthy futures – through nature based learning, personal development and wilderness experience.
  • Connecting inner city youth in Scotland to the wonder and beauty of estates and their ecological heritage, with a focus on rebuilding rural skills linked to the outdoors.
  • Seeking to resurrect and protect the awe inspiring wilderness of Chizarira National Park in Zimbabwe in partnership with the International Anti-Poaching Foundation.
  • Research and publish findings on why wilderness experience is the best personal development tool out there.

Major initiatives like these depend on the steady support and partnership of our friends. Please consider making a donation today.
Thanks for everything you do to help protect our natural world.  We hope you  will be able to support us further in any way you can.
