One Health Medivet
Wilderness Foundation & Medivet
Caring for our Animals, People and Planet
Medivet is proud to partner with the Wilderness Foundation in support of its global One Health campaign to better care for our animals, people and planet. The Wilderness Foundation’s One Health influence stretches from the wild rhino reserves of the Eastern Cape of South Africa to the healing woodlands of the Essex countryside and the offer of mental health support to the most vulnerable. All united under the umbrella of protecting our wilderness as sanctuaries to care, protect and heal.
Caring for our Animals, People and Planet
For over 50 years, Wilderness Foundation Africa has worked to create safe strongholds for rhino and other indigenous species.
Forever Wild Rhino Protection Initiative is Wilderness Foundation Africa’s response to the rhino poaching crisis and is dedicated to anti-poaching, rhino horn demand reduction, the establishment of new rhino populations and the conservation and protection of suitable rhino habitat. In the Eastern Cape, their collaborative programme spans 800 000 hectares of protected habitats with ambitious plans to double these areas.
Caring for our Animals, People and Planet
Engaging over 8000 people per year, Wilderness Foundation UK harnesses nature and wilderness experiences to create positive change and improved mental health for disadvantaged and vulnerable children, teens and adults.
The WFUK team is proud of their commitment to caring causes, such as their Out There programme, supporting young people aged 11-15 who are struggling with school, behavioural issues and emotional resilience; the Blossom Project, a domestic abuse recovery programme for children, teen and adult survivors of domestic abuse to learn strategies to cope with their past experiences and move on in a healthy way, and Brave Futures, a nature based group therapy programme for people who have experienced grief, trauma, social isolation, anxiety and depression.
Caring for our Animals, People and Planet
Uniting everything the Wilderness Foundation undertakes for our animals and people, is its protection, restoration and management of bio-diverse wilderness and wildlands. Its programmes and partnerships are focused on establishing connected corridors between protected areas, and reclaiming, re-wilding and restoring natural habitats to allow nature to flourish.
Working with local communities and through its “Wild Schools” nature and climate change programme, Wilderness Foundation is educating and engaging people to promote and protect biodiversity for current and future generations.
