HOME ED – FOREST SCHOOL
Welcome to the wonderful world of Home Ed Forest School, where anything is achievable, nature is the classroom and knows no limits. Come and explore the woods, build a den, light a fire, get messy or just listen to the sounds of the forest.
Home Ed Forest School is a unique child-led, learning experience. Children engage in motivating and achievable tasks and activities throughout the year (rain or shine). The children can work with tools, learn personal, physical, social and emotional boundaries. They will grow in self-confidence and self-esteem, all whilst developing an understanding and a love of the natural world.
The children will be in an environment that allows them to take appropriate risks. All these skills can then be taken back into home-life and other educational settings. Our Home Ed Forest School sessions are led by a Level 3 certified Forest School Leader.
The new ‘Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill’ moving through Parliament will allow Local Authorities the power to intervene and require school attendance for children where home education is not deemed suitable. Wilderness Foundation UK supports parents who choose to home educate their children through programmes such as our Home ED Forest School sessions. As a registered alternative provider, we work with parents and schools to ensure that all children have the opportunity to access quality outdoor education.
“Good afternoon, I just want to say a massive thank you for making my son feel so welcome today he hasn’t stopped talking about his morning with you and can’t wait to return (except he wishes it was every day!). Thank you again x”
