Last Saturday saw the whole team busy bright and early preparing our Chatham Green base for our Festive Fayre. The weather was on our side and we welcomed over 400 visitors in the brilliant sunshine to our site , with nearly 200 children visiting Father Christmas in his specially decorated canvas cabin to receive a present.
Our young visitors also :

  • Followed the magical reindeer trail
  • Planted trees
  • Planted acorns
  • Visited Farmer Fraser and his farmyard animals
  • Met the Khantisci horses
  • Met Spock the Owl
  • Made a Christmas decoration to take home for their Christmas trees
  • Had their faces painted
  • Ate delicious burgers and bacon rolls

Huge thanks to all our volunteers from the Phoenix Rotary Club of Chelmsford, Cadets  from the East Anglia RFCA who helped us plus our band of fantastic volunteers who all contributed to the success of the day.
Special thanks to Persimmon Homes and Hutchison Financial Planning who sponsored the event and to Zigi’s who donated the lovely woodburner to keep Father Christmas and his elves warm, the Khantisci horses and Mr Spock the owl, plus Humphreys & Sons Farm, Great Leighs School – FOGLS and Lynda Hamilton Catering for all their support.
