On behalf of the Player family, the Wilderness Foundation, the Wilderness Leadership School and the Magqubu Ntombela Foundation, we would like to announce that the official memorial service and celebration of Dr Ian Player’s life will be held on 14 January 2015 at Hilton College in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, South Africa.
Out of respect for the international dignitaries, family and friends who want to attend but will have difficulty arranging flights at this time of the year, we have chosen to hold the memorial service in mid-January 2015. We wish to honour Dr Ian Player fittingly by ensuring all family, close friends and associates are able to attend.
Further details will follow in due course.
A memorial will also be held in the UK and is being organised by the Wilderness Foundation UK.
