New Year New You? Got the fitness bug? Want to make a difference this year? You can help us raise vital funding for our work by running in the British London 10k Run for the Wilderness Foundation in July 2016
We hold a debenture for six runners to take part on Sunday 10th July 2016 completing the 10k course around the historic London Landmarks
2016 will be the sixth year that the Wilderness Foundation has benefited from runners participating in the British London 10k Run. The provisional date for this year’s event is Sunday 10th July 2016 and we are seeking runners to enter on our behalf. We have six guaranteed places available in the race. In return for your entrance, we ask you to raise sponsorship funds in support of the work of the Wilderness Foundation UK.
Staged on the worlds greatest road race route which no other road race anywhere in the world can match, The British 10k passes many of the capitals truly world class historic landmarks.
The British 10k is run on roads closed to traffic, involving complex road closures backed up by significant traffic management plans enabling traffic from across London to pass around the race route for much of the day.
If you would like to be a runner for the Wilderness Foundation (like last year’s brave souls pictured right – including Grace Browne who ran the course dressed as a tree!) there are two conditions that you must be able to meet:
- You have to be able to complete the race course in 2 hours – which means you could even walk it fast and still finish!
- As this is a sponsored event we would ask you to pledge to raise a minimum of £250 for the Wilderness Foundation.
Once registered, you will a Wilderness Foundation sponsorship pack with all the forms you need. Later you will receive a runners pack (dispatched shortly before the race in July), together with race wear carrying the WF logo – so that everyone can know you are supporting us. We will also come along and cheer you on at the event in July and meet up with all our runners afterwards to say a very big and well deserved “thank you!”
To express your interest in taking part, keeping fit and making a difference to vulnerable young people across the UK, please email us.
Thank you for your support.
