David Eckersley, Project Coordinator of our flagship “Imbewu Scotland” programme is taking on quite a challenge in support of The Wilderness Foundation initiative – or at least his feet are!
David and a team of friends have signed up for The Caledonian Challenge –  an event which will test them physically, mentally and at points emotionally over 54 miles.  The challenge will push their bodies and mind to their limits over 24 hours, all without sleep!
The adventure will take place on 15th and 16th June when teams set off along the Highland Way.   Their starting point is Gairlochy, with  regular stops at designated Checkpoints including Fort William and Glencoe.    The journey will take participants through some of the most remote, rugged and stunningly beautiful countryside where they will experience majestic views of Ben Nevis, the magnificence of Glencoe and Buachaille Etive Mor and the legendary Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
The challenge is all in a good cause and funds that David and his team raise will support the mission of The Wilderness Foundation and Foundation Scotland.  Team “Not Sure Yet” have already raised £1,200 for Foundation Scotland,  so 50p of every £1 of sponsorship from now on will directly support us.
