Huge thanks to Kerri Hicks who completed the Brighton Half Marathon yesterday and raised over £550 for the Wilderness Foundation.  Kerri ran the winter half-marathon in just under two hours (1:59:53) – a fantastic effort considering most of her training took part in a particularly difficult time of year enduring during freezing conditions and short days.
The Wilderness Foundation would like to thank everyone who sponsored Kerri and helped to raise such a fabulous amount for the charity.
Kerri explained why she chose to support the charity:
The Wilderness Foundation is an organisation which provides opportunities for individuals and groups to directly experience the irreplaceable quality of nature, both as a positive force for social and environmental sustainability and as a forum for personal growth and change. In the last year 3000 people benefited from their work, including the hardest to reach, most disadvantaged young people in the UK and internationally.
After finishing the half-marathon, Kerri wrote :  ‘Aching legs and unbelievable tiredness, but other than that I’m injury free and very much enjoyed the run – it was an amazing atmosphere, running along the beach, past Brighton Pier.’
