Remembering the life and work of pioneering conservationist Dr. Ian Player
The Wilderness Foundation recently held a memorial service celebrating the life and work of our late Founder, the inspirational conservationist Dr. Ian Player.
The service was held at St. James, Piccadilly, London on Tuesday 17th March when we were delighted to welcome friends old and new to remember Ian and share with us on this occasion of mixed feelings – sad at our loss of Ian, but delighted to be reconnecting with the many, many people whose life he had touched over the years. In particular, we were pleased to welcome former First Lady of South Africa, Mrs. Mbeki, representing HRH The Prince of Wales – Mr. Andrew Sheepshanks and His Excellency the South African High Commissioner Mr. Obed Mlaba.
We have made a recording of the service for those that were unable to attend on the day, which can be viewed below.
Thank you to everyone who came to support us and continues to place such importance on the pioneering work of Ian, and the Wilderness Foundation’s that he leaves behind to continue his legacy.
