A MARISCO workshop was conducted today with the Wilderness Foundation UK staff members. The workshop was similar to the one he conducted with the local community on July 26.
The staff members were asked to identify the project targets and subsequent threats to them. The workshop turned out to be an interesting discussion forum for the staff members who ranged from ecology students to complete novices. The workshop was based on the CMP Open Standards principles. The ideology underlying the workshop was to integrate the targets that project aims to achieve with the threats to those targets and derive subsequent strategies that can be adopted to minimise those threats.
The method is learning how to take a ‘systems thinking’ approach to systematically listen to everyone and formulate strategies to overcome conflicts.
