Immerse yourself in nature in a profound and personally challenging way

The idea of spending time alone with nature is as ancient as humanity and can have a profound and moving impact on individuals.  Being completely self-reliant and alone with the sounds, smells and sights of nature can lead us to ask questions around our own identity, purpose and goals in life.  The experience can become a powerful transitional pathway enabling individuals to instigate positive and life changing changes.
The Wilderness Foundation is inviting a small group of like-minded people to participate in a mini solo camp over 18th and 19th August 2015.   The course will be delivered at Chatham Green in Essex, led by WF team members Jo Roberts and Helen Payne.
Jo and Helen are both experienced outdoor facilitators and have led a wide range of trails, camps and nature based experiences between them.  Jo has recently returned from Slovakia after training a group of therapists through a week long wilderness trail.

“Then stirs the feeling infinite, so felt in solitude, where we are least alone.”

~ Lord Byron, ‘Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage’

On the day you start your solo camp experience, Jo and Helen will help you to prepare, ensuring you have the skills and knowledge you need to complete the camp successfully.   A full kit list and a complete set of joining instructions will be provided in advance, so you come fully equipped.   After the introductory session, participants will set off on their own to solo camp.
You will be encouraged to fast through the camp (though we will provide a communal meal before you begin the solo), so that you can focus fully on the experience of being in nature on your own.
The next day, after you have completed the camp, we will call you to share a wholesome late breakfast and will then facilitate a session so that you can fully debrief within the group to gain as much insight and understanding into your own experience.
The price per participant is £50.00 and places will be limited, so we urge you to confirm your interest as soon as possible.
On completion of the solo, we hope that you will feel reconnected to nature and yourself, having achieved a renewed sense vigour and  direction.
To register your interest and reserve a place on our mini solo camp please complete the form below or email info@wildernessfoundation.org.uk
