On the 31st January 2013, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal visited the Chatham Green Project to plant a tree and open our new Diamond Jubilee wood.
Before planting the tree, Her Royal Highness was introduced to the Chatham Green Project by Jo Roberts using a series of informative boards covering aspects such as: our education programme, the community tree planting initiative, our conservation approach, our sustainability agenda and finally the project’s plans for a purpose built education centre funded by Natural England and Strutt & Parker Farms.
Her Royal Highness then met staff and volunteers from the Wilderness Foundation UK and Strutt & Parker Farms as well as key friends and supporters from the local business, education and political landscape.
After signing the Chatham Green Project guest book, Her Royal Highness made her way out to the adjacent meadow where she planted an English Oak (Quercus robur).
