This means we have has passed a robust assessment designed to ensure that we are meeting schools’ learning and risk management needs.
At Chatham Green we are focused on farming, conservation, and sustainability. Important crops such as high quality milling wheat are grown on the arable farm and there are numerous habitats to explore with real life examples of sustainable energy. We have facilities to cater for class sizes up to 40 pupils in our purpose built Education Centre before heading out to discover farming and nature. We are able to consider larger group bookings so please contact us to discuss your dates and needs; flexibility is at the heart of our education programme.
This time of year the site is a riot of vivid green and offers an excellent opportunity for practical sessions to record wildlife and of course to inspire art, photography and creative writing.
With nature in full swing we have undertaken more of our wildlife survey work recording small mammals, butterflies, birds and even installing 50 dormouse tubes into the hedgerow to record the presence of this wonderful European Protected Species. This work will continue throughout the year giving us a rich understanding of the flora and fauna on site, informing education sessions and conservation management.
