We’ve recently had some staff changes at The Wilderness Foundation as some of our key staff members have moved on to pastures new.

After six happy years with the charity, Sue Macfarlane has bid a sad farewell to her friends and colleagues at The Wilderness Foundation.   Sue started with us as Administrator for the TurnAround Project and then three years ago moved across to the executive team, supporting Jo Roberts and Richard Corby with the day-to-day management of the organisation.    Sue has been a key player in the growth of the charity and has also been an influential figure in the lives of the many young people with whom she has come into contact as a volunteer mentor, both on TurnAround and the Out There programme.    Sue leaves us to join her husband overseas, but promises to stay in touch.    She will be sadly missed.
Head of Conservation Jake Sales has also moved on, pursuing a more geography based career acting as an independent consultant.   Jake oversaw the first year of the Chatham Green Project, which included the creation of our new 12,000 woodland at Chatham Green in conjunction with Strutt and Parker (Farms).     Jake had previously been a mentor for TurnAround, which was how he came to learn about the work of the Foundation.
We wish both Sue and Jake the very best for the future.
Sue is succeeded by existing staff team member Louise Carslake, who now moves into the role of Executive Assistant.   We wish Louise every success in her new role.
Taking the Chatham Green Project forward will be our new Environmental Education Officer Amy Sutcliffe.   Amy has a proven background in environmental education and interpretation and will be a key player in delivering phase two of the Chatham Green Project.     We will profile Amy here later in the month.
