It’s been a wonderful first BioBlitz at Hyde Hall Farm, Chatham Green today

We’ve been blessed with a warm and dry Autumn day, enabling us to explore many aspects of food, farming and nature on the farm, but our main focus has been on studying the organisms present in our wildflower meadow.   Children and families have been surveying the hedgerows, identifying the trees and bushes and then taking a closer look at the birds, mammals and insects that live in them.
Chatham Green Project Education Officer Jenna Cains said:
“Our inaugural BioBlitz has been a great success!   We’re thrilled with the number of people who have come out to help us and enjoy being in the Essex countryside.    We’ll definitely be running the event again in the future – everyone has thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
