Vacancy : Part Time Education/Schools Liaison Officer

Part Time- 2 days per week for 1 year (renewable)

The Imbewu Scotland programme is a project of The Wilderness Foundation UK, with funding support from Scottish Natural Heritage, and Aberdeenshire Leader amongst others.
Imbewu Scotland is a personal development and leadership programme focused on inspiring urban young people to learn about opportunities for rural work and enjoyment of the outdoors, and develop understanding of Scotland’s natural heritage and the rural economy.  Week long trails will take place on selected estates in Aberdeenshire, Perthshire, South Lanarkshire, Dumfries & Galloway.
The role will involve creating partnerships with a selected group of schools to source candidates for the programme, administer the recruitment process, and support those selected for the programme through to completion.
In co-ordination with the project co-ordinator, you will complete risk assessments, conduct health and safety checks, and approval visits for the participants. Produce reports and feedback to schools and partners on the participants’ progress. Support the monitoring and evaluation process.
The person will be expected to work from home, but with access to the Scottish Land & Estates office in Musselburgh, as well as regular travel to the schools and participating estates across Scotland. Flexibility as to hours worked will be required.
