Community Conservation Fund – Africa

Why we need your help

Our Planet

The awareness of the benefits of sustainable practices for the preservation of the planet and the livelihoods of its inhabitants should not be determined by access to traditional education channels.
The CCFA has identified a gap in the ecosystem around conservation awareness in communities that share living space with wild animals. We believe that supporting these communities through environmental and economic educational programs will cultivate community leaders who feel empowered and inspired to change the fate of the planet from one that is driven by greed and a scarcity mindset, to one guided by a unified awareness towards abundance, through sustainability.

Our Gift

The CCFA is committed to identifying rural African communities who have not yet realised their potential to create their own sustainable economies, through driving wildlife management and conservation programs. We aim to educate and empower local communities so that they can understand that giving back to the planet does not have to be a costly undertaking – just a conscious one.
We are passionate about sharing our dream of Africa which sees a continent that demonstrates pride and respect for its greatest asset – the wildlife.

Our Responsibility

We believe that it is our responsibility as beneficiaries of an economy that is built around a unique environment of natural wildlife and resources, to ensure its sustainability.

The diversity of cultures and varying scales of education or lack thereof in rural African communities pose a challenge to economic growth outside of city living. The CCFA has identified the integral role that these diverse communities play in maintaining a cohesive ecosystem between man and his natural environment. We have developed wildlife management programs that can be adopted by rural communities to empower people as individuals and to preserve both the wildlife and the viability of tourism in Africa.

Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows The Wilderness Foundation to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to The Wilderness Foundation we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like The Wilderness Foundation to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that The Wilderness Foundation will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When The Wilderness Foundation receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.
