Young people across Essex have had to deal with unprecedented pressures due to Covid. Not only have many lost the thread of education and training, but they have also experienced a wide range of high impact issues affecting their mental wellbeing. At the Wilderness Foundation we have a long history of holistic, early intervention work, supporting vulnerable groups and individual clients with the healing power of nature and the outdoors. Our Bounce Back Lockdown Recovery programme, funded by the UK Government and commissioned for Essex Youth Services by Essex County Council, is able to provide support for young people aged 13-18 and SEND 16-25. The details of our first 2021 cohort for SEND young people are listed below with dates of a further seven to be announced later in the year. Please note this programme is for people from the districts of Chelmsford, Braintree and Maldon only and places will be offered on first-come-first-served basis while late referrals will be put on waiting list.
